Geelong Bypass: Traffic and Economic Assessments

The principal objective of the study was to identify a preferred route and staging strategy for the Geelong Bypass, based on both traffic and economic considerations. The core activities needed to achieve this objective were:

• Establishment of a contemporary and robust transport model;
• Development of cost-effective route and staging options;
• Traffic forecasting to assess operational performance and benefits of the routes/staging options; and
• Economic assessment of the routes/staging options.
