South East Busway Operations Planning (Brisbane)

This study was commissioned by Queensland Transport. VLC was contracted to develop and evaluate alternative operating strategies and for the planned South East Busway (SEB) in Brisbane. VLC's Zenith travel demand model was used to predict the likely patronage for each operating strategy. Because of the nature of the operating strategies proposed, the study involved rationalizing virtually all of the bus services operated by Brisbane Transport, and the major private operators, operating in the south-east corridor of Brisbane. The new busway opened in 2001.
