VLC has extensive specialist experience in the forecasting of
traffic demands on roads with tolls. VLC has recently developed
new toll modelling algorithms and procedures which are, to the
best of our knowledge, the most advanced in the world today. These
algorithms put VLC at the very forefront of travel demand
forecasting on toll roads. VLC’s toll modelling capabilities now
far surpass anything seen before in Australia.
In recent years, VLC has successfully carried out analyses of toll
roads for both private and public sector clients. In particular,
the Victorian Government has employed VLC on an exclusive basis
since 199x, to provide the Government forecasts of toll usage on
the Melbourne Citylink Project (about $AU 1.8 Billion). This has
involved the forecasting of traffic demands, evaluations of
economic benefits, analysis of design issues, and our modelling
capability has also been used in the resolution of AMBIT claims.
Following our work on the Citylink project, the Victorian
Government has also employed us to provide the same analysis for
the Mitcham-Frankston Toll Road Project (estimated in excess of
$AU 2.5 Billion). VLC has used its recently developed toll
modelling algorithms on this project.
VLC has also worked for private sector clients, mainly as an auditor of other traffic models. It is expected, however, that our private sector work will soon extend to providing the lead forecasts for private consortia, making toll modelling one of the most important services provided by our company. |
